The mini-conference at Maastricht University, co-hosted by Zuyd Hogeschool in Maastricht, is open to all general public interested in health professions education and the “Maastricht Model”.

- Day 1: A full day experiential training on ‘Enabling Learning: How to Become an Effective Teacher’.
- Day 2: A full day in ‘Medical Skills Training and Working with Simulated Patients and how to involve the community in teaching’.
On the second conference day participants can choose from 3 programmes:
- Medicine at the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences
- Midwifery at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences
- Nursing at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences
Please make your choice upon registration for the post-conference workshop. Please note that in case the required minimum amount of participants is not fulfilled for the Midwifery and Nursing programmes, you will be asked to join the medical programme.

Why experiential learning on ‘Enabling Learning: How to Become an Effective Teacher’?
Picture this: You are standing in front of a classroom, the attention is waning, the noise is increasing and you know you have to act fast to save the day. You are working so hard to get the content across, yet your audience is passively slipping away from you!
Do you recognize this? That is why we have developed a workshop to let you experience and practice how to interact with your audience to enable them to learn, to involve them in their own learning process, to get them into action.
During this conference workshop people can exchange ideas, experiences and most important of all create networks to strengthen their health professions education. The atmosphere is quite informal and low-threshold, the perfect climate to meet and have open discussions, to share your challenges and seek solutions together.
PARTICIPANTS PROFILE
This conference is organized in partnership with the 2018 TUFH originally as a post conference in Maastricht. But we like to open it to everyone interested in education in Health Profession and everyone who likes to share and exchange their health professionals knowledge and experiences.
We invite health professionals, health educators and policy makers with an interest in the subject ‘Experiential learning on ‘Enabling Learning: How to Become an Effective Teacher’.
Off course we would like to invite TUFH members as well as especially also students of Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing and Physiotherapy and other related studies with an interest in education. Your participation will not only enrich the diversity of the participants’ backgrounds and nationalities in the workshop, but also add in a valuable way to your resume and experience with health professions education.
