Terra Mosana, enhancing digital heritage in the Euregio

The Terra Mosana project (lead partner: University of Liège) has been approved by Interreg Euregio Meuse-Rhine and will commence with a kick-off meeting in September 2018. The project will develop digital narratives - through 3D modelling and on-site augmented reality - of the shared history of four key cities in the Euregion: Aachen, Liège, Maastricht and Tongeren.

Concrete outputs will be delivered in the form of an exposition and digital productions around cultural heritage sites in Liège, Maastricht, Tongeren and Aachen. Terra Mosana is a unique collaboration between the municipalities, universities and cultural heritage sites of the above-mentioned cities. The work package coordinated by MACCH will focus on realising a feasible sustainability plan for the project and will contribute to the development and implementation of responsible citizen participation as well as create a legal framework and data-management policy needed in order to realise the digital storytelling and 3D experiences. MACCH affiliated researchers will contribute expertise on language cultures (Leonie Cornips, FASoS/Meertens Institute), digital participation (Sally Wyatt, FASoS) and heritage and intellectual property law (Hildegard Schneider, Ana Ramalho and Lars van Vliet, Law Faculty). In addition, the Work Package ‘communication’ includes research on the development of a Euregional museum pass.
