First SHE Dissertation Award for Chris Harrison

SHE alumnus Chris Harrison received the NEW SHE Dissertation Award and the AMEE doctoral report prize at AMEE.

SHE has about 10 PhD candidates each year that defend their PhD Thesis. Many of these theses are of very high scientific quality. To honor our PhD candidates and to celebrate scientific progress in health professions education it has been decided to offer an annual SHE Dissertation Award for the best PhD thesis defended in a particular year. A jury has studied all the theses that were defended in 2017 and, after careful consideration, selected the SHE Dissertation Award 2017 and awarded Chris Harrison for his PhD thesis titled Feedback in the context of high-stakes assessment: can summative be formative?.

Chris was announced as the winner and Professor Jeroen van Merrienboer handed out the prize at the SHE Gathering, organized parallel to the AMEE conference in Basel, on Monday, August 27, early in the evening. Chris was surrounded by his proud family and supervisors/promoters Cees van der Vleuten and Karin Könings

Congratulation Chris, Andrea and Stephanie on your great accomplishments!!
