An European week it was, last week! Just before the #MaastrichtDebate, we presented our analysis of the European Manifestos in light of cross-border regions with ITEM/Institute for Transnational and Euregional cross-border cooperation and Mobility. ➡️ Although EU border regions make an important share of EUs territory and act as living labs of EU integration, where Europe is shaped and experienced on a daily basis, the European groups are not adressing border regions specifically. That is worrisome, as the current status quo is not enough and #CohesionPolicy is open for debate in the next term. 📚 https://lnkd.in/esW4U2Qg The more important that we came together with Transfrontier Euro-Institut Network (TEIN) in Eupen on Thursday and Friday to discuss the intensified future cooperation for research and impact on cross-border regions in Europe, fueled by expertise across the European border regions. Happy to be part of this network, and bringing our expertise and knowledge in for well-functioning cross-border regions.

Yesterday, we celebrated the completion of our FOCI-project, at the conference "A Blueprint for a European Degree", in Brussels, with almost 300 representatives and stakeholders of EU higher education institutions. With Erasmus+ funded pilot projects, the mission of FOCI has been to explore and pilot potential criteria that will form the basis for the future European Degree label. Thank you for all colleagues and project partners from the three university alliances YUFE Alliance , EPICUR University Alliance, ECIU, it has been a pleasure to work together. After being joined several projects aiming to overcome legal obstacles in creation of joint degrees, and obstacles that mobile citizens in Europe face in terms of recognition of academic and professional qualifications, it is great to see this topic addressed on the EU agenda. ➡ Read my earlier reflection on the European degree: https://lnkd.in/ezErEWfb ➡ Our report on legal considerations on the European degree label: https://lnkd.in/ehRy3dqX #Europeandegree
