In September and October 2021, the Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage (MACCH) is organising, together with the municipality of Maastricht, the International Terra Mosana Closing Conference.
Terra Mosana is a euregional project aiming to investigate, digitalise and present the shared history of the Meuse-Rhine Euregion. Over the course of three years (2018-2021), various cities and regions, heritage sites, museums and universities have jointly developed digital narratives through 3D modelling and on-site augmented reality connecting cultural heritage sites in Aachen, Jülich, Leopoldsburg, Liège, Maastricht, and Tongeren.
On 29 September, the opening ceremony of the conference will take place at the city hall in Maastricht. Due to Corona-restrictions, the opening ceremony is by invitation only and will be livestreamed via YouTube.
The rest of the conference (on 30 September, 1, 7 and 8 October) will take place via Zoom. During these days, there will be keynotes, workshops and panel sessions spread out over four afternoons (from 14.00 to 16.30 CET). Under the umbrella of the conference theme Sustainable Digital Heritage, these separate events will zoom into the following topics:
- Digital Heritage as Collaborative Practice (on Thursday 30 September),
- Digital Storytelling for Cultural Heritage (on Friday 1 October),
- Governance and Legal Frameworks for Digital Heritage (on Thursday 7 October), and
- Participatory Practices and Social Inclusion in Digital Heritage (on Friday 8 October).
To attend the conference, which is free of charge, please register via this link.
For more information and an overview of the entire programme, please consult the conference page.
The Terra Mosana project, is being executed within the context of Interreg V-A Euregion MeuseRhine, and is financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Walloon Region, the Provinces of Limburg (NL and B) and the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia.
