Agreement about the Public Health Center was signed between National Research Tomsk State University, Siberian State Medical University and Maastricht University

On May 23, 2017 National Research Tomsk State University, Siberian State Medical University and Maastricht University signed the agreement to establish a Public Health Center in Tomsk.
The scientific director of the Center Klasien Hortsman commented "We will address global health challenges that are in the focus of the global agenda. This center will allow us to concentrate and coordinate our actions."

Third International Conference "Social Sciences & Health Innovations: Making Health Public" took place in Tomsk

Third International Conference "Social Sciences & Health Innovations: Making Health Public" took place in May 22-24, 2017 in Tomsk. The conference was the result of collaboration between Maastricht University, and Tomsk State University, with participation of Siberian State Medical University and European University at Saint-Petersburg.
This year the conference examined the complexities of making health public by engaging the perspectives of the social sciences, including science and technology studies (STS), medical anthropology, sociology and history.

Siberian State Medical University organized the Engloholics Summer School on Academic Writing and Public Health
|
|
On 20-31 July, 2017 Siberian State Medical University with support of the new Public Health Center and the Center for Academic Writing of Tomsk State University orginized the first summer school on academic writign and public health.
The whole program of the summer school was focused on academic writing for publication in international journals, project management and other best business practices in public health and was held entirely in English.

BIHSENA monitoring visit at Vinnytsa National Pyrohov Medical University

On December 16, 2016 monitoring visit of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine took place in Vinnytsia National Pirogov Memorial Medical University.
Managers of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine paid the main attention to the dissemination of the project, quality assurance and sustainability of the results as well as emphasized the main strength of the project – very positive and collaborative atmosphere between the teams of Ukranian universities.

BIHSENA team members participated in the Summer School 2017 “Health care system transformation: Eastern Europe”, Ukraine

June 18-23, 2017 the Summer school "Transformation of the health care system: Eastern Europe" co-organized by the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and UNICEF took place in Bukovel, Ivano-Frankivska region.
Several BIHSENA project team members joined the event - Tetiana Urochko (National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy) and Olena Ihnashchuk (Vinnytsia National Pirogov Memorial Medical University). Prof.dr.Wim Groot, Maastricht University, delivered a morning plenary on "Governance in Health Care".

BIHSENA teams from Ukraine and Russia successfully developed and implemented campus courses

In February 2017 Andrei Kuznetsov (National Research Tomsk State University) and Ivan Tchalakov (University of Plovdiv) taught the two weeks course "Innovation and Society. How to Understand and Study the Processes of Innovation in the Modern World?" in Tomsk, Russia.
In April 2017, Olena Ihnashchuk (Vinnytsia National Pirogov Memorial Medical University) in collaboration with BIHSENA team from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy leaded the two weeks course “Management of Health Care System Transformation” in Vinnytsia, Ukraine.
In May 2017 Olga Zvonareva (Maastricht University), Olga Ustyuzhantseva (National Research Tomsk State University) and Maria Netaeva (Siberian State medical University) delivered the one week course "Innovations for Health and Society" in Tomsk, Russia
Sergey Vozhakov who participated in the course "Innovations for Health and Society", shared his opinion: "To briefly discribe this course, it was interesting discussions, new points of view, innovative projects, extraordinary and talented people and the common desire of the participants to make the world beautiful!"
