The final stretch: events, walking routes, ventilation, self-testing

|
We are counting down! Just a few more days until 25 September, and then a number of COVID-related measures can stop. We informed you about this already last week. At that time, we also promised to get back to you quickly on the question of event access. In this mail, we provide more clarity on this. We will also let you know the situation regarding walking routes and ventilation in the buildings, and that self-tests remain high on our list of priorities.
Events
We can be very brief and clear about this: as of 25 September, all events taking place within the UM buildings will be accessible according to the rules that apply to educational activities. That means they are accessible without a so-called corona certificate. For all UM events that take place outside of our buildings, the rules of the relevant location apply. If you want to organise an event outside UM, please check first what it means for your visitors.
Walking routes
As soon as we say goodbye to the 1.5-metre distance rule on 25 September, the walking routes in our buildings will also disappear. In some specific places you will still see footpaths. We don’t mean to make things more difficult for you than we need to, but these are necessary for safety reasons in those places. We ask you to respect these routes.
Ventilation
Good ventilation in our buildings remains important. In the COVID-19 Safety Protocol you’ll find the various measures that we have taken, and instructions on how to use natural (manual) ventilation to promote good air quality. If you have questions about the ventilation in a specific room, please contact the Servicepoint-FS (servicepoint-fs@maastrichtuniversity.nl, +31 43 388 2002).
Self-tests
We cannot stress the importance of selftesting often enough. So once again, please self-test twice a week. They can still be ordered free via zelftestonderwijs.nl (at least until the end of October).
