Education after the summer: on campus
|
|
|
Hopefully there will be a nice summer break, but the new academic year is already approaching. Therefore, we would like to inform you about education starting in September. In principle, this will take place according to the 'rules of the game' which were applicable before the COVID pandemic. However, we do need to be prepared for unexpected corona-related developments to which we may have to respond.
All educational activities on the campus From September onwards, we are happy to be able to welcome all students back on campus for their educational activities; for example, tutorial groups, exams, laboratory and counselling sessions. In-person education is a perfect fit with the small-scale Problem-based Learning approach of UM. It also increases the quality of education; students and lecturers can focus fully on the work at hand.
In the new academic year, all education is subject to the attendance requirements that apply to the various studies. In principle, it will not be possible to attend educational activities online in the event of a COVID infection. Likewise, the possibility of an extra examination opportunity will no longer exist.
At the same time, the experiences of the last few years have taught us that we might need to take corona-related developments into account – and that these may force us to deviate from the above principles. Naturally, we will keep you informed.
Information per faculty to follow Additional information, specifically for students and employees of your faculty, will soon be available through the faculty communication channels.
On the UM website, you can also find corona-related information about studying and working safely.
Staying alert As said, we will continue to monitor any developments and implement measures and guidelines if the situation so requires. Of course, this applies not only to education but also to other activities. In the preparation of introduction activities, such as the INKOM and faculty introductions, we will take into account any necessary measures (preventive or otherwise).
For now, we wish you a happy and healthy summer!
