27 January 2022: Donna Yates Gave a Keynote Presentation at UNESCO/EU Workshop

MACCH affiliated researcher Donna Yates and Neil Brodie gave a keynote presentation titled ‘Money Laundering and Antiquities’ at UNESCO/EU Workshop on the Role of the Financial Sector in the Fight against Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property, which took place online on 27 January 2022.

On January 27, UNESCO with the support of European Union organised an online workshop that focused on the role and means of the financial sector in fighting illicit trafficking of cultural property. The workshop brought together leading experts and professionals in the field. Lecturers, researchers, representatives of the European Central Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction, the Financial Action Task Force, INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and private banks, shared their experiences and best practices.

Donna Yates and Neil Brodie gave a keynote presentation titled ‘Money Laundering and Antiquities’ during Session 1, which focused on regulatory frameworks to fight money laundering and illicit trafficking of cultural property.
