Book release: Applied linear regression for longitudinal data

By

The department of Methodology and Statistics is delighted to announce the release of the book: “Applied linear regression for longitudinal data: with an emphasis on missing observations”, written by Frans Tan (retired associate professor) and Shahab Jolani (assistant professor). The PhD course MALD (multilevel analysis of longitudinal data), organized and given by the authors since 2005 at the University, was the reason and inspiration for the current book.

With this book, the authors deliver best practices for data analysis from longitudinal and repeated measurement designs by visualizing important concepts instead of using abstract mathematical formulas. The book also covers the state-of-the-art imputation methodology to deal with missing observations in a non-technical way. This book essentially provides answers to the questions of various researchers within FHML and outside who face the challenge of analyzing longitudinal data. In the companion website, an extensive manual in SPSS and R (written by Miranda Janssen, Shahab Jolani and Frans Tan) together with data files are also provided to help researchers to conduct their longitudinal data analyses.
