SHE Academy 2021 – SHE learns and SHE connects!

By

On April 12, the first online edition of SHE Academy opened with an inspiring keynote by SHE alumnus Javeed Sukhera, followed by an interactive conversation on diversity and inclusivity within SHE, which resulted in suggestions and recommendations to be followed up by the SHE community and SHE leadership.

SHE Academy takes place over the course of 3 weeks, with participants following three sessions each week, with the option to choose workshops from three tracks: Career and Wellbeing, Research Presentation, and Methodology. Furthermore, SHE Academy is about community building and making connections, which for example happened in the Round Table sessions where PhD candidates discussed their work with peers and SHE staff members.

In the second week, a plenary workshop by colleagues from the University Library increased the participants’ knowledge and awareness of the Open Science movement and Open Access publishing. Still in store for the final week are some great workshops and a closing session in which we’ll celebrate our journeys of becoming health professions education researchers.
