SHE PhD’s meet online

By

On August 28, many SHE PhD students, alumni and SHE staff came together at Mini SHE Academy 2020. This event is usually organized at the AMEE conference, but moved online this year. As a result, many more SHE community members could participate! We even welcomed a SHE alumnus from New Zealand who attended the event at 3 am local time.

The session, organized by PhD candidates together with PhD coordinator Janneke Frambach, focused on the Do’s, Don’ts and Don’t Knows of Going Digital in health professions education academia. After an opening speech from the new SHE director Pim Teunissen, participants moved to three parallel tracks where they discussed digital data collection, presenting yourself online, and communicating about your research in the digital world.

After the session, many participants stayed on for the social programme, in which we toasted on the nominees and winner of the SHE Dissertation Award 2019. Congratulations to Martina Kelly and Kyle Wilby for their nomination, and Adam Szulewski as the winner of this award! The session ended with a speech from the founding director of SHE, Cees van der Vleuten, and a fun short quiz that tested the participants’ knowledge about SHE. Congratulations to Carolin Sehlbach as the winner of this quiz.
