Dirisana, South Africa consortium members joined the SHE Summer Course

We would like to thank and congratulate the 10 participants from the five Southern Africa consortium partners, who took part in this year’s SHE summer course as part of the Dirisana+ project objectives. Professor Cees van der Vleuten will visit the Dirisana project, being an Erasmus project in 2022 and will keep us posted.

Dirisana+ is an EU co-funded capacity building project in Higher Education aimed at improving health sciences education in southern Africa. The aim of the project is to provide a culturally-responsive quality health and science education founded on evidence-based research and directed at enabling students to address the needs of the individual, the family, the community, and the population, despite numerous resource constraints in Africa.

This involves, but is not limited to, the training of our staff in health professions education through advanced degrees and online courses, use of advanced technologies both in and outside the classroom, re-evaluation of our curricula, and in assessing the knowledge, attitudes, perceptions and competencies of our students in an ever-changing academic and global environment.
