Introducing New Member: Dr Flora Lysen

Flora Lysen is a post-doc researcher in the Maastricht University Department of Society Studies and teacher for the BA Digital Society and University College Maastricht. Together with Prof. Sally Wyatt she is part of an NWO research team investigating Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Decision Making (“RAIDIO”).Her PhD-research at the Media Studies department of the University of Amsterdam was concerned with the influence of emerging (popular) media technologies on conceptions of seeing “the brain at work” from the 1920s until the present. Her broader research interests are in the field of (popular) mediation of science, histories of media in laboratory research, and also in different/alternative forms of doing research. During her position as program coordinator at the Amsterdam Research Institute of the Arts and Sciences, Flora started “Artists & Archivists,” a series of meet-ups that aim to connect artists, archive professionals and collections. At MACCH, she is interested in collaborating on art-science and artistic research projects that aim to create and critically assess new interactions between arts and academia.
