Introducing New Member: Diana Berzina

Diana Berzina recently joined MACCH as a Junior Researcher based in the Faculty of Law.

Diana will be an important part of the European Research Council-funded “Trafficking Transformations” project, working alongside Donna Yates, as well as project researchers in South Africa and New Zealand.

Originally from Latvia, Diana has lived in Scotland for the past eight years. There she received an undergraduate degree in Archaeology-History from the University of Aberdeen, and a master’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Glasgow, where she was awarded both the Criminology and the Sociology prizes for her coursework and dissertation.

Her research interests involve antiquities trafficking and art crime, inequalities research, digital social capital, contested illegality and digital communications. As a scholar who bridges gaps between disciplines, she is excited to join our diverse and multidisciplinary team.
