Opening Ceremony: OKP Project NCMTC

By

In early 2020, SHE Collaborates won a project tender to embark on a project collaboration with North Coast Medical Training College, Pwani University and 4Kenya TVET in Mtwapa, Kenya.

The project aims at establishing a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in health professions education and strengthening of Public-Private-Partnerships. Hanze University for Applied Sciences and SkillsMeducation BV are the partners from within the Netherlands.

The project goals include capacity building in the areas of Skills training and education, entrepreneurship, community based education and services, e-learning, biomedical instrumentation, as well as the establishment of a regional branch of a Skills training material supplier.

Until recently, arranging a typical kick off meeting was not possible due to travel restrictions. The opportunity finally arrived last month, with the re-opening of Kenyan schools, to celebrate this big collaboration.

And NCMTC knows how to celebrate! The school band, the school chef cook, partner institutes, government officials and staff and students came together for an inspirational and colourful gathering.
