OSCEs by Cees van der Vleuten
I was attending the annual conference of the European Board of Medical Examiners (EBMA) in Łódź in Poland. There was a plenary on OSCEs by Richard Fuller. He gave a masterful overview and was wondering about the future of OSCEs. His central tenet was that if OSCEs do not move along with modern assessment conceptions, it will not survive.

Improving palliative care education for our future doctors.
The need for palliative care is increasing due to the expanding aging population and the growing number of people with chronic diseases such as cancer, heart failure, COPD and dementia. Although every medical student and doctor will be in contact with patients in the palliative phase, teaching and learning about palliative care in undergraduate curricula is fragmented and suboptimal. The Pasemeco project is looking to change that.

What is your motivation for Medical Education? Please participate in our survey.
Dear fellow SHE student/alumnus,
During the course of your MHPE or PhD, have you ever wondered why you are professionalizing in Medical Education, when your personal and professional life is already packed? Do you ever question your motivation to keep going? And what factors contribute to success, struggle or attrition in these programs? This is exactly the focus of a current project by Fabian Dupont and Aditya Sharma (MHPE Class of 2020) and Karen Könings (Associate Professor at SHE).

Last call, Holiday campaign for Beira
Earlier this year SHE Collaborates launched the Care for Beira campaign, with the aim of raising funds to help rebuild the infrastructure from our partner university, lost during the cyclone in Mozambique. We received a national donation of the Dutch charity organization Stichting Wilde Ganzen. We strived from the beginning to raise € 40,000 so at least we can help financing a new roof. Stichting Wilde Ganzen promised, with reaching the project budget of €40,000, to raise their donation with 1/3 of the total budget.
We need 3,000 Euro more to reach our target before Stichting Wilde Ganzen will add 14,000 Euro more! Please help us and contribute to www.umcrowd.nl before 31 December. Thank you.
